Information on El Gordo Iberoamericano
El Gordo Iberoamericano
The El Gordo Iberoamericano launched in February 2013 in the Dominican Republic and gives players the opportunity to win big jackpots in every draw. This lottery game is actually the exact same lottery as the El Gordo de la Primitiva from Spain, but in the Dominican Republic it is known as El Gordo Iberoamericano instead. Even though these lotteries might have a different name, it is in fact the exact same lottery with the exact same draw and the exaxt same results. The Dominican Republic was the first Latin American country in which the El Gordo de la Primitiva became available to play.
The first draw of the El Gordo Iberoamericano took place on the 24th February 2013 and the numbers were drawn in the Dominican Republic to celebrate this event. Normally the numbers are drawn in Spain.
El Gordo Iberoamericano draws take place once a week on Sunday, with five main numbers plus an additional number, called 'Clave' in Spanish, drawn to come to the final result for that draw. To win the jackpot in this lottery, you have to match all five of the main numbers plus the Clave number. There are however eight other prize tiers available to win in every draw. The full list of prizes available in the El Gordo Iberoamericano are:
|1st||5 + 1|
|3rd||4 + 1|
|5th||3 + 1|
|7th||2 + 1|
|9th||0 + 1|
Because the lottery is now held in both Spain and the Dominican Republic, the jackpot has been increased to a minimum of 5 Million Euros (about 269 Million Peso Dominicano.)
